What is Step Up & Step Out?
Step Up & Step Out, or SUSO, is The Up Center’s annual fundraising event. It brings the community together at Harbor Park for a stair climb and 2 mile run/walk, along with family activities, music, community partners, and opportunities to participate as an individual or team.
The event raises funds to support The Up Center’s services across Hampton Roads, including mental health counseling, foster care and adoption, housing and financial counseling, youth mentoring, parenting support, and early childhood programs.

Why Your Support Matters
Every day, children, families, and individuals across our community face challenges that cannot be solved alone. Access to mental health care, safe and stable housing, foster care support, parenting resources, mentoring, and recovery services can change the direction of someone’s life, but only when those services are within reach. Your support through Step Up & Step Out helps The Up Center continue providing coordinated care and support for people throughout Hampton Roads when they need it most.
How You Can Get Involved
Put your brand on every step, engage your team, and power foster care, counseling, mentoring, and housing stability for local families.
Start a peer-to-peer fundraiser to rally friends, family, and coworkers. You can make the biggest difference by sharing.
