A Meaningful and Tax-Smart Way to Give
A gift of stock can help The Up Center provide critical services while offering potential tax benefits to you.
Wells Fargo Advisors handles the acceptance and sale of stock donated to The Up Center. Your broker will work directly with our representative at Wells Fargo to complete the transfer.
Before making a gift, please consult your financial or tax advisor to determine how a stock donation may affect your individual tax situation.
How to Donate Stock
1. Contact Your Broker
Tell your broker that you would like to donate stock to Child and Family Services of Eastern Virginia, doing business as The Up Center.
2. Provide the Transfer Information
Ask your broker to use the following information:
- Organization: Child and Family Services of Eastern Virginia, dba The Up Center
- DTC Clearing Number: 0141
- Account Name: Child and Family Services of Eastern Virginia, dba The Up Center
- Account Number: 5417000
- Reference: Donor’s full name
Including your name as the reference helps us identify and acknowledge your gift.
3. Complete the Stock Transfer
Your broker will send the stock and required information to Wells Fargo Advisors. Patty Sutton, The Up Center’s Wells Fargo representative, can assist your broker with the transfer.
4. Stock is Sold
After Wells Fargo receives the stock, The Up Center authorizes its sale. The resulting funds are then transferred to The Up Center to support our mission.
