Jordan believed one mistake would define his future.
At 17, Jordan was on house arrest and facing serious legal and personal challenges. Without support or guidance, the choices he had made could have followed him for the rest of his life.
But Jordan’s story didn’t end there.
After joining The Up Center’s New Visions program, Jordan met caring staff who saw more than his mistakes. They challenged him, encouraged him, and helped him believe he was capable of something more.
Change didn’t happen overnight. There were difficult conversations, new responsibilities, and moments when Jordan had to choose a different path. But with someone walking beside him, he kept moving forward, one step, one decision, and one success at a time.
Today, Jordan has been released from house arrest, completed his senior year of high school, and landed his first job. Instead of believing his past would define him, he now sees a future full of possibility.
Every young person deserves someone in their corner.
Last year, 78% of youth participating in New Visions improved their behavioral outcomes.
Without the right support, challenges at school, at home, or with mental health can quickly lead to substance use, involvement with the juvenile justice system, and fewer opportunities for a successful future.
